Abstract

In the globalized world in which we find ourselves, organizations need information professionals who are competent in the use of procedures, tools and information resources for effective information management. In this contribution we reflect on the skills and new challenges of the information professional in working with serials, from the proliferation of materials in digital format, the complexity of the information needs of users in all fields of knowledge due to technological advances in the treatment of information. They talk about the potential of the librarian to become a leader who uses communication and teamwork to replicate their knowledge.
