Librarians with critical thinking: a requirement of modern times

Abstract

This article reflects some the peculiarities of critical thinking and the need for its development librarians to meet new challenges in their professional management. It also presents a set of recommendations to the program rating course organized by the National Library of Cuba José Martí. These were then made of the literature review on the teaching and librarianship fields on this subject, and analysis of various work reports of the National Association of Librarians (ASCUBI) and the Branch for the care and development of the National System Public Libraries (SNBP), among other documents. These suggestions are intended to contribute to the consolidation of those skills librarians will receive such improvements in the coming years.
