Abstract

Based on the assigned collection that integrates the Lobo-Napoleon
Collection of the National Library of Cuba José Martí, that illustrated the cataloging history of paper money as a document in the library science field. An analysis of numismatic catalogs most recognized and used by the National Numismatic Museum of Cuba in order to confront the elements that are set for the description of this type of special material with those of the Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules, 2nd edition, from identifying four areas it specifies the information to retrieve and to be taken into account when performing assigned cataloging. Using the methodology example of one of the pieces of assigned, processing is performed and proposes MARC21 fields, to create the structure of the database to allow access automated. It ends on providing study findings.
