Methodological proposal for the digitalization of the 20th century patrimonial press held at the José Martí National Library of Cuba

Abstract

This paper proposes a methodology for standardized digitization
of collections of twentieth century Cuban press that holds the National
Library of Cuba José Martí, through a theoretical and practical study
of digitization of the newspaper Combate (published from 1959 to 1961).
The proposed methodology allows for standardization of work, achieving
systematize and unify the process of digitizing newspapers, resulting in a
more efficient workflow. It promotes access readers to the heritage press,
contributes to the preservation of information and allows the recovery of
digital information over time.
