Introduction to the document verification-archivist method: a model to evaluate and maintain the authenticity of archival documents in a digital environment

The document verification-archivist method as an alternative to the complexity of assessing electronic records is examined. It begins with a brief theoretical outlook at Document Verification and Archival Science. Next, the aforementioned method is considered, on the basis of the experiences gathered by international projects such as “Preservation of the Integrity of Electronic Records (UBC)” and “Protection of the Integrity of Electronic Records in Electronic Systems (InterPARES)”. Finally, the authors offer considerations and conclusions about the topic.Downloads
