This article shows the results of a study carried out in the public libraries of the Havana City for 2007 to learn the reading preferences and interests of the users who visit them with the goal of making new projections for 2008 to 2010. This research had another similar study as a precedent carried out in 2003-2004 and was presented at the poster session of the IFLA Conference held in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The study, in addition to updating and enriching its predecessor, contributes new and interesting data and interests about the users, which allowed the development of strategies and the design of projects to improve information services, reading promotion, collection development, cultural programming, as well as the quality of life of the users who visit our information centers, taking as the point of departure the satisfaction of their preferences.Downloads
