Bibliometric study about sustainable processes management: future researchs lines

Abstract

Objective: The objective of this review is to develop a study on bibliometrics and the theoretical foundations of process management and its relationship with sustainability. Design/Methodology/Approach: The methodology used was, in the first stage, a systematic and quantitative bibliometric analysis, carried out using the ScienceDirect database, from which trends in publications, authors, main journals, keywords and authorial cooperation were obtained using the VOSviewer software. In the second stage, the scope and relationships between process management and sustainability are discussed, the dimensions of sustainability included in the concepts of process management are identified, and hierarchical cluster analysis is employed using Minitab software for Windows. Results/Discussion: The results of the work show an increase from 2019 in the number of scientific publications, for a total of 126 articles in the last 5 years, representing a (76.8%). The authors associate different dimensions to the concept of sustainable processes, including economic, social, environmental, innovation, institutional, technological, sustainable production and sustainable management. Conclusions: The evaluation of sustainability associated with processes shows the increase of the sustainable approach as a trend in the management of process-based organizations. Originality/value: The bibliometric study of scientific production on process management and the inclusion of sustainability dimensions in processes is an effective tool aimed at updating researchers for the development of future lines of research.

Se desempeña como profesora auxiliar en la Universidad de Sancti Spíritus, Facultad de Ciencias Técnicas y Empresariales, específicamente en el Centro de Estudio de Técnicas avanzadas de Direcció. Es doctoranda del Programa Doctoral de Gestión Organizacional con la Universidad de Holguín.
