The book of the deceased as a witness to the memory of the san Juan de Dios cemetery in Matanzas: its conservation

The article aims to carry out preventive conservation actions that allow mitigating or stopping the deceased and loose pages as witnesses to the memory of the San Juan de Dios Cemetery in Matanzas. Through the study of historical, theoretical and heritage components regarding the conservation of paper-based assets, the main values in documentation and its binding are also analyzed. The diagnosis revealed the main damages and with these results an effective conservation proposal can be formed, which later can be used for an intervention in the field of restoration. For this reason, this work feces the challenge of presenting effective preservation actions from the study of the deterioration it presents and its heritage value as a source of information and a container of history.
