Libraries mainstream processes in institutional decision-making

Objective: This study examined libraries from a mainstreaming perspective, that is, how they mainstream institutions for successful decision-making. Methodology: The research began with a narrative review of the scientific literature. The historical-logical method was applied to help identify patterns, trends, and gaps in the literature. Triangulating the research resulted in recommendations based on the analysis, which will allow for a better approach. Inclusion criteria were used based on a critical evaluation. Results and Discussion: Called to ensure the quality of their services, specific contexts are still called to the application of the ISO 90001 standard. Knowledge management needs to be improved in all key sectors of library services. Other perspectives are pointed out from information management, with open data, the benefits and impact of implementing new technologies in the library environment from the representation of users, staff, and the public, assuming challenges and challenges. Conclusion: In libraries, processes are mainstreamed with the technological input and expertise provided by knowledge and the commitment to training information professionals. It is proposed to implement strategic support components that will intervene in the processes and become part of the library's organizational structure. Contribution: These findings underscored the need to implement strategies, in addition to the challenges posed by technology, security, and ethics. New research is called for in order to enhance library work
